Fees

The fees at PsychMind Clinical Psychology are considerably lower than the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee schedule, providing more equitable access to psychological support. Please note that you do not need a referral or mental health diagnosis to see a psychologist. However, if you have a Medicare card and an appropriate referral, it makes sessions considerably more affordable.

Payment: Payment via EFTPOS, direct deposit bank transfer, and cash is accepted. For face to face appointments, payment is due at the time of the appointment. For telehealth appointments, payment is due the business day prior.

Medicare: You are eligible for a $149.05 Medicare rebate for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year with a Better Access Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from your GP or psychiatrist. Rebates are processed onsite and automatically refunded to your nominated bank account overnight.

*Concession rate: After the initial assessment session, Centrelink health care card and pension card holders are eligible for a $20 discount on the standard fee which reduces the out-of-pocket cost to $50.95 per session. Standard consultation fees apply if you have exceeded your Medicare Safety Net for the year. Please note that PsychMind does not offer bulk-billed Medicare services.

Reports: Report fees are calculated based on the complexity of the report and the time required for assessment, data collection, case conferencing, and report writing. A deposit is required to commence reports, and full payment must be made before the report is released. Maria can provide a quote after the initial assessment and data collection.

WorkCover and CTP: Maria is a SIRA registered psychologist who can see Workcover and CTP insurance clients. With insurer approval, all treatment sessions are paid in full by the insurer at no cost to the client. Please note that standard fees will apply for services not covered by the insurer, such as private reports, or if psychological treatment is no longer approved by the insurer (for example, when a claim is denied or closed).

Private Health Funds: You may be eligible for a partial rebate of your fees through your private health fund. Rebates vary depending on your health fund and coverage level, so we recommend you check your coverage for a “Clinical Psychologist Consultation” with your health fund before your consultation. Please note that health funds will not provide a rebate if you are concurrently receiving a Medicare rebate for the same session.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that life happens, and you may not be able to attend an appointment, but we kindly request you communicate this to us in a timely manner. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give PsychMind at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment spot to another client on our waiting list. Unfortunately, there will be a $100 cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend a booked appointment.
